Dear Guzzi Friends, this first year of
the club's life has been important and a great satisfaction to us... but I
thas also been full of problems and very hard... We were born in january
with some difficulties (as well as all the births... of children... or even
motorbikes!). We organized Engineer Caracano's birthday party: he is the
historic man of Moto Guzzi. We gave several Italian and foreign Motoclubs
hospitality: we remember especially the Moto Guzzi Club Cuneo's and Guzzi
Club Bodensee's Friends, with whom we made friendly relations (Guzzi Club
Bodensee's Friends act as intermediary for German members... they work very
well!). We took part in Italian and foreign rallies, and finally we
organized shows (of old race bikes) during the 80th anniversary in Mandello.
This year is ending and we are going to
write the programme for the next year. It will be soon published on the
website. The issue of our magazine will go on; we hope it improves.
After a year we have 260 members, and to be
honest we didn't think of such a success. It was unexpected: for this reason
we made some mistakes (we forgot to send the magazine, or the invitations
for the club's annual dinner...). We hope we don't make them again. We
apologized with the persons concerned and hope it was enough.
Our club-house is open every Thursday
evening to all Moto Guzzi's owners who want to call on us. In winter it is
open Thursday evening only, but we think that in spring and summer it will
be open more frequently, in order to satisfy such needs as reservations,
assistance, suggestions of itineraries of our country, our lake, our
outskirts. Some itineraries have already been proposed by a group of fifty
English Guzzi friends, who called on us last year.
